Is this Spyware?
Absolutely not!  113 does not use cookies, 113 does not track what you do, where you've been, or when.   The only thing our system does is monitor how many times a serial number is being used simultaneously.  If it is used more than five times at once, then we reserve the right to cancel that serial number and license.  But understanding that things happen, the first time it happens we will give the end-user (at the purchasing email) a replacement serial number.
What is the 113 Tools Utility?
Let's face it, no matter how much we love our favorite programs, there is always something that you wish was done a little differently.  This really all started with America Online (AOL).

It is very easy to hit the wrong close button on AOL's main window.  It annoyed us that they just can’t seem to incorporate a message asking you: "Are sure you want to sign off and exit?   So hit the wrong close button and you were just signed off.

Now that is something we can fix, but that alone isn’t worth making some shareware app.  Then we started looking at AOL Instant Messenger.  And there are definitely things there that could be more user friendly.

*please note:  when we say "fix" or "fixes", that doesn't mean that there is a definite bug in whatever program we are referring to.  Just our own personal views on the functionality.
So what does 113 currently do?
Currently 113 fixes/enhances two progams:
        •America Online (AOL)
        •AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)

As a bonus, 113 offers a Panic Mode feature within AIM, the instant hiding of chat windows.  Plus, you have the ability to use the Panic Mode on other programs!
What does 113 fix in America Online (AOL)?
Right now, it only fixes one aspect.  As stated above, if you hit the close button on the upper right window of AOL (the box with an X) AOL will just log off the Internet connection, and exit the program.  Under different circumstances it is easy to hit the close box unintentionally.  I hate that they can't offer a simple box that says, "This will shut off your Internet connection and exit AOL.  Do you wish to continue?"

Most other programs do this, "Do you wish to save this document?"  Where you then have the option of saving it, or not, or just canceling the close altogether!

So, 113 does this for you.  Once it detects that  the command you just executed most likely will cause AOL to quit, it will prompt you with a box explaining this.  You then have the option of continuing with that command, or ignoring it.

Other fixes for AOL are in the works for future versions.
What does 113 fix in AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)?
By AIM, we mean the free version of the Instant Messenger which runs separately from AOL.

AIM Pop-ups
When a new AIM window pops up, it steals your keyboard focus.  If you are typing to someone else, or typing a letter, you are now accidentally typing in the wrong window.

Two things  happen here:  First, the person who sent you the Instant Message (IM) sees that little indicator which tells them you are typing.  So they know you are at your computer.  Sometimes you don't want that.  And it's true that you can turn off that indicator, but if you hit ENTER then your accidental message is sent to them, and they know for a fact you are there.

Which leads us to the second problem with this:  You might send some text to someone you shouldn't.  And who know's what you just sent to them?  Credit card info?  Maybe you were talking about that very person?  Who knows?!?

With 113, any new AIM window that pops up is AUTOMATICALLY minimized.  Most of the time, your keyboard focus will stay where it was, but it will not go to the new  IM window.  So not only does the person who IM'd you not know that you are there, but you don't have to worry about accidentally typing  something they should never have seen!

Closing an AIM window by accident
How many times have you hit Escape to close an IM window or hit the close button, only to see that just a millisecond before you did that, that person sent a new IM.  So now you have to send an IM to them that says, "Sorry, I accidentally closed your IM window, and missed your last message.  Could you send it again?"

113, keeps an eye out for just such an occurrence.  When that happens, it cancels your close command.

AIM Windows littering your desktop
Your desktop can be littered with open AIM chat windows.  Isn't it always the case that people come up by your desk suddenly and can not only see what you are doing but sometimes see what you are saying!  Or even worse!  You are working at your computer with someone, and an AIM chat window suddenly appears, no privacy!

113, has a Panic feature.   With a simple keystroke all AIM windows are automatically hidden!  The same keystroke brings them all back.  As well, when the Panic Mode is turned On, any new IM windows automatically go to the hidden mode.

Auto-AIM shut off
When you log onto more than one machine using the same AIM ID, it tells you that another machine has just logged on with the same ID.  This is nice, but let's face it, anyone passing by that machine will see all IM's you get throughout the day.  So 113 offers an Auto-Shut off code.  Send the code to yourself, and AIM will shut itself off at the other location.

Does the Panic Mode work elsewhere?
Glad you asked.  Let's face it, there are plenty of programs that we might have open that we just don't want anyone to see.  That doesn't mean you are just playing games where you shouldn't be, there can be other circumstances.

113 allows you to train and customize the Panic Mode.  With this feature you show Panic Mode the windows you want it to always include when it goes into hiding mode.

Maybe we're talking another chat program that 113 doesn't currently work on.  Maybe it is a game, or a video player, or something else we haven't thought about.  The bottom line is that it is up to you to decide.

Please note:  You should only train Panic Mode to work on simple programs, chat, games, etc.  You should not use it try and hide your Desktop for instance.  We have no idea what will happen if you do.  Also, we recommend that you test any new program that you trained 113 to include in the Panic Mode.  Just to make sure that it won't cause you to crash and reboot, while working on some important document, or the likes.  Bottom line is that you accept that you are using this at your own risk.
Why does my firewall software keep asking me about 113App.exe?
Our software uses a remote server verification for serial numbers.  This is done to protect us from piracy.  As well, it checks for new versions.  Please set your firewall software to always allow 113App.exe to automatically connect to the Internet.

*Please note:  See next paragraph.
So how many computers can I install this on?
Once you purchase the software, and we think $3.99 is an amazing price, then you have the right to run it on up to five (5)machines.  We figured that a lot of people have a home computer, a laptop, and a computer at work.  So we added in two more, just to round it out, after all, some people have more than one computer in the same house.

As for the shareware version, that number can go as high as ten  per email address.  Once our system notices that the same shareware key is being used in massive amounts, we reserve the right to cancel that key.
How much?
You can try the shareware version for free which has some limitations and is good for only 30 days.  When you're ready you can buy the full version for just $3.99.

What other programs will 113 work with in the future?
We're looking at other apps as we speak.  But feel free to make suggestions.  I will say this, some Pop-Up blockers fail in my opinion.  While not looking to replace them, we are designing something that will give you added pop-up protection.

What systems will 113 run on?
Currently 113 should run on most flavor of Windows.  It has not been tested with ME.  Feel free to try it and let us know.  As for what version of AOL and AIM, it should work with most current versions.  As newer versions are realeased, when necessary 113 will be updated and will alert you to the updates being available.  Updates (i.e. 1.00 to 1.50) are free.  Where as  newer versions (i.e. 1.00 to 2.00) are a new purchase.  Of course owners of the previous version will be offered a discount.
